Welcome to the new Shire Direct Website
A welcome letter from Shire Direct Managing Director, Geoff Beard...
Added: 5th January 2008
May I take this opportunity to wish you a Happy New Year and also offer you a warm welcome to the brand new incarnation of the Shire Direct website. After 18 months of blood, sweat, and tears (well, just a lot of sweat actually, but I'll spare you any further unsavoury visions!) our new website is finally live. It's been a labour of love by those that have worked on it, including myself, and will continue to be so, as we further improve and develop it on a continual basis in the months and years ahead!
I thought it might be a good idea to introduce you to some of the many features of our new website.
Firstly, at the heart of our site, is our Mortgage and Property Glossary. Unlike other glossaries, ours offers more than just a brief definition of the subject matter in question. We instead provide detailed explanations, walkthroughs and guides on each item covered in our ever expanding glossary.
Additionally, there are our Essential Guides - especially written in-depth multiple page guides on various home and finance related subject matters, such as our Essential Guide to First Time Home Buying, and our Essential Guide to Mortgages. We hope to be adding many more useful guides to our Essential Guides collection in the coming months and years ahead!
We've also added several useful Mortgage Calculators, including a calculator to help give you an idea of how much your monthly mortgage repayments may be, and a calculator to give you an idea of how much you may be able to borrow. Once again, we hope to be adding additional calculators in the not too distant future.
When we began work on this project in the Summer of 2006, we never for one moment envisioned the first production phase taking some eighteen months, in fact we had penciled it in as a three month long project! Somewhat optimistically it would seem, as here we finally are some eighteen months later! However, with almost 400 pages crammed full of useful information and content relating to our mortgage services, we're delighted with the end result and we hope you will be too!
I say 'end result' but in reality, this is just the beginning for our new website really! Websites have a tendency of taking on a life of their own and I hope our new website will be no exception as we continue to add useful information and material in the form of articles, guides, news, and tools, not to mention competitions, prize draws and exclusive offers!
To celebrate the launch of the new version of the Shire Direct Website we're also launching the Shire Direct 2008 Grand Prize Draw, in which we'll be giving away over £2,000 worth of Argos Vouchers! Terms and conditions apply, please see our 2008 Grand Prize Draw page for full details. We hope it's the first of many competitions we'll run in conjunction with our website.
You might also like to know that we are giving away £100 worth of vouchers with every mortgage and loan transaction completed through us during 2008. Terms and conditions apply, please see our Vouchers Special Offer page.
Finally as I wrap up, I'd just like to remind you that we're only ever a free telephone call or couple of mouse clicks away, and we'd love to hear from you, and will be delighted to help in any way we can, wherever possible.
May I personally thank you for taking the time to look at our website - I hope you enjoy browsing around, and that you find it to be useful. Please bear with us during the first couple of weeks of site launch, as always with projects of this size, there can be the occasional unexpected glitch and teething problems, but rest assured our team will be hard at work ironing out any issues that occur, please do feel free in the meantime to send feedback of any issues, problems or errors you find and we'll do our best to attend to them as soon as possible.
Wishing you a very happy, healthy, peaceful and prosperous 2008...
Geoff Beard

THINK CAREFULLY BEFORE
SECURING OTHER DEBTS AGAINST YOUR HOME.
YOUR HOME MAY BE REPOSSESSED
IF YOU DO NOT KEEP UP REPAYMENTS ON A MORTGAGE OR ANY OTHER DEBT SECURED ON IT.
Adding existing debt to your mortgage will increase the repayment term and overall cost.
