To celebrate the launch of the latest incarnation of the Shire Direct website, we're giving away over £2,000 worth of Argos vouchers to spend in any Argos store (editors note: apparently approximately 98% of the UK population now live within 10 miles of an Argos store!).

Yes, one lucky winner will receive £1,000 in Argos Gift Vouchers, whilst there will be a further 25 Runner-up prizes of £50 worth of Argos Gift Vouchers just in time for Christmas 2008 - just imagine how handy that might be!

Anyone whose mortgage or homeowner secured loan transaction completes through Shire Direct between 1st January 2008, and 4th December 2008 will automatically qualify for entry into the Grand Prize Draw.

The Draw will take place on 5th December 2008 at our offices in Eastwood and all winners will be notified and receive their prizes before Christmas. A full list of winners will be available upon written request from January 2009 onwards.

Shire Direct 2008 Grand Prize Draw Full Terms and Conditions:

  • This promotion is a prize draw and is only open and applicable to those whose mortgage or homeowner secured loan transaction completes through Shire Direct between 1st January 2008 and 4th December 2008.
  • Entry is automatic for those meeting the qualification terms identified in 1 above.
  • In meeting the qualification terms identified in 1 above, entrants will also be homeowners, aged 18 years or older at the time of entry.
  • In meeting the qualification terms identified in 1 above, entrants must reside in mainland Britain at the time of the draw.
  • One entry per household only.
  • The prizes are as follows: 1st place: £1,000 Argos Gift Vouchers, plus 25 runner-up prizes of £50 worth of Argos Gift Vouchers. The prize fund totals £2,250.
  • The deadline for entry is Thursday, 4th December 2008.
  • The Prize Draw will take place at our Eastwood offices on Friday, 5th December 2008 and will be supervised by an independent person. All winners will be picked at random.
  • Winners will be notified by telephone or post depending upon your contact preferences held on record, and their prizes delivered in time for Christmas.
  • The Gift Vouchers remain the property of Shire Direct until winners have been notified and have accepted the prize.
  • In the event of a winner being unable to accept their prize, they may nominate a family member or partner to accept the prize on their behalf.
  • Prizes will be despatched via Royal Mail Recorded Delivery, or may be personally delivered should a winner live within close proximity to our offices in Nottinghamshire.
  • The draw is not open to employees of Shire Direct, their family members, agents, affiliates or anyone else involved with the Shire Direct Grand Prize Draw 2008.
  • The first prize winner accepts that they may be required to have their photograph taken and name published for publicity and promotional purposes.
  • The promoter is Shire Direct. Any queries or comments regarding this Prize Draw should be directed in writing to the Marketing Department, Shire Direct, Shire House, Coach Drive, Eastwood, Nottinghamshire NG16 3DR.
  • The judges' decision is final and no correspondence will be entered into.
  • The name and county of all prize winners will be published on our website from January 2009 onwards or in writing by sending an SAE requesting a list of prize winners for the Shire Direct 2008 Grand Prize Draw to the Marketing Department, Shire Direct, Shire House, Coach Drive, Eastwood, Nottinghamshire NG16 3DR.
  • Prize images used on this page and throughout our website are for promotional purposes only and may not represent the actual prizes themselves.
  • Shire Direct reserve the right to substitute any prize for another of its own choosing which has a value of the same or greater than the original prize in the event of circumstances outside its control. There is no cash alternative to these prizes. All prizes are subject to availability and change.
  • By completing a homeowner secured loan or mortgage transaction with Shire Direct between 1st January 2008, and 4th December 2008 you accept that you will be automatically entered into our Shire Direct 2008 Grand Prize Draw, and agreed to be contacted in the event you should be a winner, and furthermore agree to accept the terms and conditions identified here.
