A look at the CCJ Certificate of Satisfaction and available mortgage help from Shire Direct for satisfied or unsatisfied CCJs!

A CCJ Certificate of Satisfaction (or Satisfaction Certificate) will be issued to you when you have settled your indebtedness in respect of a County Court Judgement (CCJ), on payment of a £10.00 fee.

Read on for the lowdown on the CCJ Certificate of Satisfaction, and what it means, and how we may be able to help with a mortgage or remortgage even if you have a CCJ, or CCJs, whether they are satisfied or unsatisfied.

What is a CCJ Certificate of Satisfaction?

So a CCJ Certificate of Satisfaction is issued to a person who has CCJs registered against them upon settling their debts with regards to a County Court Judgement and payment of a £10.00 fee.

The CCJ Certificate of Satisfaction can be used to evidence that the debt is fully paid and settled, as your credit file will not show the transaction as being "satisfied". Once you are in receipt of the Certificate of Satisfaction, you can apply to have your credit file amended to note that that particular debt has been "satisfied".

If a CCJ is registered against you, it can have a serious impact on obtaining mortgage and credit facilities for years ahead! Even though you may have obtained a Certificate of Satisfaction, your credit file will still show the registration of the CCJ, although on application to the credit reference agency, it will now be shown as being "Satisfied". The CCJ entry remains on your file for 6 years from the date of registration of the CCJ.

Can a satisfied CCJ still affect me getting a Mortgage?

Yes it could! And so, you may require specialist help!

If you do have a CCJ registered against you, the chances are you may have already experienced problems in obtaining finance such as credit cards, HP or a bank loan. As part of their credit assessment, financial institutions will take into account any adverse credit history that you may have.

Here at Shire Direct we appreciate that many of us will encounter some form of debt problem, and often through no fault of our own. An accident, illness, redundancy, and partnership breakdowns can all play havoc with our budgetary finances.
